Driving on the roads are getting more challenging with the usage of Personal Mobility Devices on the roads these days. Besides Cyclist, drivers need to look out for scooters, auto electric bikes and two wheelers.
This is especially more dangerous when you are driving large vehicles like trucks, cement trucks etc. These trucks are high and big and has many blind spots. DO be very careful when you are on the turn, cross junctions and also during peak times. Migrant workers tend to ride a lot on the roads during the peak hours. While in the residential areas, more and more aunties and uncles are spotted with the PMD, some of them are not even fit to handle these devices, but hey , once you have that drivers’ licence. It means that you have the licence to drive something that could cause fatality. Like the Singaporean way of thinking: SAVE YOUR ASS first! You do not want to be whirled into a court case where maybe you are not in the wrong even!
Do note that once you are a driver with a class licence, you have the responsibilities towards others who does not, eg Pedestrians, PMD users, Cyclist etc. You might think this is unfair, but YOU CHOSE to drive and ride on the roads. You are operating a device that has the potential to harm others if not handled well. Therefore it becomes your responsibility.
Always be very careful with these road users. Some of them do not follow the high way code or even the traffic signals. Keep a close watch on them.

- Drive slower at Residential areas especially near schools.
- Check blind spot all the time especially when overtaking or cutting lanes.
- Make sure that you are very careful at the X junctions, these are the place that are likely to have accidents.
- When you spot cyclist or PMD on the roads, try to avoid them or drive close to them.
