Based on a recent report by Straits Times Singapore on 16 April 2016 ( Sat), there is an increase in the number of valet driving services in Singapore. More and more people are aware about the dangers of Drinking and driving and are opting for a safer way out.

Over the past 4 years, valet drive home services have increased from 5 to the now 40 companies. Some of the companies such as Drive U Home, IDrive Valet services, reflected that their business are usually busy during Fridays and the weekends. Many motorists now understand the seriousness of drink driving and do not wish to jeopardise their licence due to drink driving. Public have also realised the stricter laws and also more road blocks being set up during the weekends and Fridays have caused them to be more careful about drinking and driving.

On a Friday, the number of requests for drive home valet can be on a average of 60 to 80 calls. The charges for the valet services are usually $38 SGD for normal sedan cars. Any drop off along the way will cost $10 extra. Most of the valet companies charges around this price.

The companies also have apps or accepts SMS incase their clients are in the clubs and cannot call for the services. Once such App is called Valetuncle. This app was rolled out last year in December. Their Co-founder, Edwin Lim , reflected that the bookings through the app is more than the normal call in and sms.
