Most Singaporeans live in HDB flats and they will need to park their cars in the Multi Storey Car parks or the open space car parks located near their residence. The parking rates for these areas are going to see an upgrade in the fees.
From December 2016, the short term rates and Seasonal parking rates for public car parks are going to see an increase. These new rates were initiated by HDB ( Housing and Development Board) and URA ( Urban Redevelopment Authority ).

The current coupon outlook
There are still areas in Singapore that still uses the parking coupons for parking. If you are still holding the old denominations, you can exchange the unused old coupons for the new ones from now on. They will receive the new coupons and just need to top up the difference in value.
The new coupons will be available for sale at the HDB branches and service centres, URA centre and also Coupon Agents like 7-11 outlets and petrol stations.
The last time the price of parking was revised was in 2002. This time they hope to make Singapore an even more car lite country.
Season Parking Rates
There will also be changes for the Season Parking Rates:
– For non-residents and residents’ second and subsequent parking lot, the full rate for season parking will be $90 per month for surface car parks (a $25 increase), and $120 per month for sheltered car parks (a $30 increase).
– For residents’ first parking lot, the parking charge will see a smaller increase of $15 for surface car parks (from $65 to $80 per month), and $20 for sheltered car parks (from $90 to $110 per month).
